Focus on Life Weeks 11 & 12

>52 week badge

OOPS! how the heck did that happen? Somehow time got away from me and I missed posting a couple weeks. I guess this post will have to cover the two weeks I am behind. Maybe because I have been spending so much time out in the woods, or walking along the river? Maybe because I havent taken the time to post because it takes time away from photography or family time? Maybe I'm just lazy?? No matter, I can always play catch up. Anyway, on to the pictures.

Week 11 - The Possibilities are Endless.

4 Sandhill Cranes in heavy cover. I chose this shot because when I go out on a nature Walk, I feel like the possibilities are endless on what I could see. Sometimes, I dont see much, other times I am amazed!

Week 12 - Observe the Curve

I chose this picture for this prompt because I loved the curve of the ice over the water. Interesting what Mother Nature can do.

There you have it! I am all caught up again. Enjoy your week, spend lots of time out in Nature if you can. It is so good for the soul.

Focus on Life Week 10

The photo prompt for this weeks challenge is ALL WRAPPED UP. I decided to use a shot of my Grand Daughter Kileigh. She spent the night and was freezing, so she rolled all up in a blanket to get warm and instantly fell asleep. Such a sweetheart. Enjoy your weekend. See you next week.

I sure wish I could sleep like this and look as cute while doing it!

Focus on Life Week 9

Week 9 of the Focus on Life challenge! The prompt for this weeks challenge was Knock Knock. I thought about posting a picture of an old, cool door, but couldn't find anything special on my drive. I like to go to a local wildlife area, and take pictures of the birds. I take bird seed, and set it out for them almost daily. It was freezing cold this day, so I opted to sit in my warm truck and watch the birds from there. After a little bit, I heard a woodpecker "Knocking" on the tree. Got this quick shot of him.

Knock, Knock
Downy Woodpecker.

See you next week!!

Focus on Life Weeks 7 & 8

Week 8 already! Yes, I have skipped a few weeks, but I promise, I will get caught up. I'm not going to make excuses (I already did on my 365 post) I am just going to try to be better and more timely. No guarantees though :) This is week 8's picture, scroll down further for week 7.

MONOCHROMATIC
Gorgeous Daisy my Daughter Courtney and Grand Daughter Kileigh gave me for Valentines Day. I am really starting to love Black and Whites. Took this with my 100 Macro lens. I am in love with this lens. It is everything I wanted and more. Cant wait to get out this spring and get some macro bug shots!

Focus on Life Week 5

This weeks prompt was Capture our Hearts. We were supposed to find a heart in an unexpected place. I took a walk at one of my favorite places. While walking along the river and the boat launch, I spotted a heart shape on one of the posts that surround the boat launch. It is true, hearts are everywhere, you just have to open your eyes and look for the unexpected!

CAPTURE OUR HEARTS

I know I am a couple weeks behind, but I am hoping to get caught up next week. Seems to be a theme of mine this year!! Enjoy your week.

Focus on Life Week 2

52 week badge
This is the second week for the Focus on Life photo challenge. This weeks prompt is "My Word". I thought long and hard and decided to make BALANCE my word for 2013.

bal·ance

[bal-uh ns]  Show IPA noun, verb, bal·anced, bal·anc·ing.
noun
1.
a state of equilibrium or equipoise; equal distribution of weight, amount, etc.
2.
something used to produce equilibrium; counterpoise.
3.
mental steadiness or emotional stability; habit of calm behavior, judgment, etc.
4.
a state of bodily equilibrium: He lost his balance and fell down the stairs.
5.
an instrument for determining weight, typically by the equilibrium of a bar with a fulcrum at thecenter, from each end of which is suspended a scale or pan, one holding an object of known weight, and the other holding the object to be weighed.

Number 3 of the definition is my goal for this year. I want to obtain Balance in many ways. I would love to better balance my time between family and friends, housework and hobbies, happiness and sadness. I chose a picture from my archives that I though best represented my word. Have a great week.

Focus On Life Week 1

Yes, another photography Challenge! This one is a weekly challenge where the Hostess sets the theme for the week and we post our interpretation on our blogs. This weeks prompt was not a favorite for me. It is "Self Portrait". Yuck. I love to take pictures, but HATE having mine taken. I don't have any idea why, but even as a child, I avoided the camera at all cost. One good thing about having it the first week is, it's out of the way! Anyway, here is my self portrait. Yes, I am a tree hugger!
