Mr Bucks Progress Report

Well here he is, a little more done! I haven't had as much time as I would like to work on Mr Buck. I think I am ok with where it is going now. I think I need to give the process more time and not form an opinion so quickly. I need to have enough done to where I can actually form an honest opinion. I am learning that patience is not one of my strong points where my beads are concerned. I want it to be perfect and I don't think that's possible. I pick on my daughter Jess for wanting all her ducks in a row, maybe I need to tell myself the same thing. Sometimes the ducks just want to fly, not always be in a row!

I finally got my hair done today (highlights, low lights and cut) so I feel a bit more human. With Maddux being sick and my Hairdresser sick too, its been about 8 weeks since I got it done. I usually go every 5 weeks so I was looking a bit shabby. Tonight I have a candlelight mass where Hospice will read the names of every one of their patients that died in 2008. As many of you know, my Father passed away in January of this year. Just a couple weeks before Kileigh was born. I am dreading and looking forward to it both at the same time. It will be good to see everyone, but I am sure my emotions will be running high too. I miss him every day. Courtney and Kileigh are going with me. Jess has to work.

Thanks everyone who looks here for their feedback and support. It really means a lot to me. I love looking at everyone else's blogs and try to leave comments there as well. The support among BJP people is amazing!

Love the progress you are making. This is really a nice piece. I always say the beads go where they want. Like they say "Don worry abot it!"

Love the new pics you put on your page. Beautiful grandchild! Both of your fur babies are beautiful.

I'm glad to see you've gotten unstuck. I ran into a sticking point on my last piece -- a couple night's sleep seemed to do the trick. My Mom died under hospice care in March -- I understand what you mean about not wanting to go and wanting to go...good luck and hugs...

You can see that the road is really a field now, can't you! I'll bet your dream of being buried alive has to do with going to the mass tonight. Buried alive is the ultimate lack of control and going to the mass will be one more step in believing your dad is gone. I know it's still hard 10 years later to realize I can't call on my dad for advice or help or friendship anymore. I am on my own so to speak and I feel inadequate. Remember though, your dad's spirit is in God's spirit now and that is everywhere so your dad is still here too, not quite the same but there will be times when you are in a quiet zone that you will feel his presence. I hope you will tonight in fact.

Bet you didn't know visiting my art blog would lead to this did you? I can be a talker and I can also be told to shut up!

Tracy, I have to say Mr. Buck is just so handsome out in front there. You have done such a wonderful job of making him so realistic! I'm sure you will feel much better after the hospice vigil, a release of sorts. Hospice is such a wonderful and caring organization. They helped my family when my dad passed away too and we couldn't thank them enough. It's amazing how just hearing a loved ones name can give one a feeling of comfort. Kileigh is adorable as are your other furry babies!

I think Mr Buck is turning out just wonderful! I love that you are posting pictures of it as you make progress on it. I usually I hit a wall with every piece of bead work that I do. When this happens, I try to put the piece away for a day or two to clear my head. If a particular area of the piece is vexing me, I'll just move on to another area and come back to the problem spot at a later time. Making progress in another area of the piece restores my beading confidence and keeps me from fretting and second guessing about the parts that are giving me trouble. I'm glad to hear that Maddux is doing better.

He's looking quite good. And what I really love about your piece is the birch bark trees!!!! What a great idea! Robin
