Its time for another episode of "I HEART MACRO". It is getting to be slim pickings out there in nature! I am having a harder time finding anything worthwhile to snap. I keep telling everyone it is all my fault that we havent gotten much snow here in Wisconsin. One of my main goals with photography was to be able to take close up pictures of snowflakes with a macro lens. I got my macro lens in the fall anticipating a wonderful Wisconsin winter of snow snow snow. Man, was I wrong! I dont think we have had more that 2 snowfalls this winter, 1 of which was really little sleet balls instead of actual flakes! Well, what can you do? So, here are more pictures of fungus, leaves, moss etc like I have been posting for weeks now!
Golden pod of some kind.
Sticker Burrs
This fungus almost looks like a flower against the snow.

Moss with growth?
I thought the green of the moss was striking against the white of the snow.
Pretty light through a pretty damaged leaf.

Tracey, they're great photos! Here in upstate New York we can't believe the lack of snow either. Last winter we didn't see the ground for a couple months! Don't despair - we're probably going to get dumped on before the robins return. Enjoy the week, and keep taking the fungus and moss and pods. They're wonderful!
Those are beautiful. I love the flower fungus. I would never have guessed what that was. It looks like your "slim pickins" gave you a great bounty.
A lovely series. I really like the two of the moss.
You managed to get some pretty amazing shots! I was blaming the lack of snow on myself. I haven't had a winter coat for 5 years and I finally bought one last fall. I've worn it once!
Your slim pickens are pretty dang awesome. I hacve found a real lack of material and after 24 feet of snow last year we've barely gotten an inch this year Go figure!
I can't tell you how much I enjoy your photos - they're always amazing! I love the moss ones, but they all make me pause and appreciate today! Thank you for these!
Tracey, Beautiful shots as only you can do. I'm not liking this crazy weather, flowers blooming that should not be blooming for another month or so and no snow where there should be at least 3ft of the white stuff.

That fungus growing out of the icy snowy froth...it looks like a pine cone to me. Excellent images.
MY MACRO LINK Drop by and see if you can find something seasonal hidden in the images. Just for fun.
Lovely eyes :) F.
