Doing the Happy Dance!

I might still be behind, but I finally got February's piece done! I am quite pleased with the end result. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but I added matte as well as shiny half-moon beads from Artbeads to the circle around the Rivoli. I think you may be seeing these beads crop up in future pages. I really like them and there are so many colors. Who knew? I thought it needed something extra, so that is the extra! Now I am off to my local Bead store to find some seed beads in aquamarine, which as you probably know is the March Birthstone color. Its not one of the colors I have used a lot in other pieces. I love adding new colors to my bead stash. So exciting!

I had a wonderful weekend. As some of my followers know, my oldest daughter Jess likes to spoil me and cook me wonderful meals! This past weekend, she made a fantastic dish called Shrimp Orzo skillet. It was one of my favorite meals ever! We also had a large salad and lemon bars for dessert! Yummy! Isn't it so pretty? It tastes as good as it looks too. I love spending time with my kids and grand kids and having good food only makes it better. Love you Jess. Thanks for all you do for me and with me!

I totally agree with Bobbi about how gorgeous your piece is, and how amazing it will be when completed.

I really hope you like using turquoise. It is my favorite bead color, as well as a color I wear all the time. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that it's my birthstone color!

Hi Tracey!
I think its going to be really interesting to see how each birthstone color looks next to one another. You see the little stones together in a chart, but I have never seen a color wheel of them in order. This is such a neat idea and so far the colors look great together.

OMG! I was drooling when I saw that skillet meal....then...no RECIPE!! Jess is so good to you because you are just as good to her. I congratulate you on having such a great relationship with your kids. We are not all that lucky.

Good beading to you friend. Hug the kids and pooches form me please.
xx, Carol

This post makes me happy! Your beautiful beading, with the connecting beaded pathway and lines, yet still its own piece, makes me happy too!!!!! And so does the shrimp dish. Yummmmm! Thanks for the happy trip!

This is incredible! You will have an amazing display when the year is done. I'm looking forward to your aquamarine additions, one of my favorite colors!

This is beautiful - I love the way the lines of one piece flow into the lines of the next. I love turquoise - it will be fun to see what you do with it.

Tracey,
I, too, am not getting my pieces done "on time"...
but when you are doing such wonderful work here, does it matter? I sure don't think so. I am blown away with your design concept...each segment a piece in its own right and then making a new shape with all the pieces together!
Brilliant.
Looking forward to the next one...
I am working on March as well & will be thinking of you.

Just Beautiful!

AND! You are an animal lover (I have two St.Poodles) which makes you extra special in my book!

Absolutely gorgeous piece!! I love how your lines are continuing around but still each section is it's own design and individual as well. Very nice execution of your birthstone color wheel! Can't wait to see how the aquamarine turns out!
